Mix It Up (just in time for) Monday: Thankful Forest Friends

I’ve been working from home today and it was halfway through the day that I realised that a) I hadn’t posted my Mix It Up Monday project yet and, more importantly, b) the project I’d planned to post was no good! Well, nothing wrong with it other than it’s for a workshop I’m doing on Friday and I know the ladies there prefer the projects to be a surprise.

So I’ve just spent part of the evening hastily creating this project for Mix It Up (yes it is still) Monday and photographing it using our rather effective new daylight lamp. This is supposed to lift our moods, countering the effects of limited daylight… but so far all it’s done is dazzle.

I’m noticing a definite trend as I work my way through my In Color charts to create a project each week using a different colour combination. Perhaps it’s because it’s autumn, but I’ve hardly touched the Cucumber Crush and Watermelon Wonder combos at all. Favourite is Tip Top Taupe - I’ve nearly done all those! Today’s combination is rather pleasant, I think; I have barely touched Perfect Plum for ages, and it used to be a big favourite of mine. So it was nice to dig it out again to create this project.

For this card, I combined two stamp sets from the Autumn/Winter catalogue: Thankful Forest Friends (a particular favourite of mine) and To You And Yours Too. I was toying with the idea of making this into a Christmas card but I’m a bit Christmassed out at the moment so I stuck with the “thanks” greeting instead.   There are still nearly three hours of Monday left, so enjoy!
